Gala Toy Drive
For Cable 14, I covered the TCG Lending Centres Company Christmas Masquerade Gala, which included a toy drive to help kids, teens and adults. From reaching out to the company, reporting on location, and editing everything together, this piece was one of my best. It exemplifies my skills as a multi-media journalist in editing, filming, reporting, interviewing, and working on a tight deadline.
Documentary: Gaslighting
My friends and I created a documentary on women being gaslit in the medical field. It was an extensive process of interviewing, editing, and recording. The final product turned out amazing and was fun to create. I was in charge of the editing and interviewing process.
James Street Hidden Gems
For a class project, I went all around James Street in Downtown Hamilton to discover vintage stores. I was a bit more creative with this one while still trying to keep it journalistic. I had fun playing around with editing, which hardened my skills.
Hamilton's Christmas Parade
I reported on the sideline during Hamilton's annual parade. I interviewed citizens live, and spread the holiday cheer! This was one of the most memorable times I had at Cable 14. It strengthened my interviewing skills, and brought me closer to my goal of becoming a news anchor.
Senior of the Year Awards
Cable 14 sent me to cover the annual Senior of the Year Awards in Hamilton. I got to meet tons of the city councillors, the mayor and all the recipients. I loved filming b-roll for this ENG and playing around with editing.
